Great book of man's poetry
Okay called me sexist, but I really think some poets appeal to different men more than women (and the reverse). Wavell, a senior officer in the British army in WWI, collected many poems and poets that fit that bill. These were pieces he memorized at one point or another in his life. I found this book years ago and having been raised on Kipling and Chesterton among others, I found many old friends here. I also found samplings that caused me to read other poets whose work hadn't interested me before. If this stuff were taught in schools, instead of the watered down non-rhymed modern stuff, more boys might not be horrified and/or bored to tears at the concept of poetry. A great book that needs to be back in print.
