Amazon.co.uk Review
Neale Donald Walsch grew up fearing God, especially after his mother, a neighbourhood mystic, was caught reading cards for a friend. His mother was "trafficking with the devil", according to Walsch's deeply religious aunt, and as a result, "God will send her straight to hell".

That was the start of a relationship born of "fearship," as Walsch calls it. In Friendship with God, Walsh speaks to the struggles he's had learning to see God as a true friend rather than a punishing judge. Like his immensely popular Conversations with God series, Friendship with God is written mostly in dialogue format, modelling how anyone can converse with God. What makes the book especially accessible is Walsch's humble voice that gently addresses most people's confusion and doubts. For example, Walsch talks about feeling squeamish that God knows the shameful secrets of his life. In response, God points out that Walsch has shared his dark secrets with friends and lovers. So why not share these truths with God, who has never judged or punished him, and never will? These types of tender and reassuring conversations give readers the courage to begin their own private dialogues with the divine.--Gail Hudson

Making peace with your God5
This was the very first of the CWG books that I read and was a very inspirational book for me. It was as if somebody had gotten into my head and found all the bits that held an opinion about how God would be if I could model such a thing and then written a book introducing me to the concept of that God and how creation and the world I lived in fitted into my model.
All the questions I ever had about suffering and pain were answered before I even knew that I was questioning them, everything started to make sense when viewed from the eyes of this God, a friendship with God was something that I had subconsciously dreamed about and now it seemed that I wasn't the only one with that vision.
I have seen time again in my healing practice that we all have to make peace with our vision of God or the Universe or whatever you call it in order to bring peace and purpose to our lives...even if that purpose is to just be happy...and this is a book that can help anyone to move out of the unconscious images of God that we have been fed since birth that don't always serve our highest good. No man can paint a picture of God for you, God is something you have to know for yourself and this book is a great starting point for anyone to begin exploring.

A practical bible5
Not traditionally a religious person, but an individual with a thirst to grow and develop spiritually, this is the most profound book I have ever read (and continue to read). It has helped me in so many ways, its next to impossible to describe how. But read the book and take what you can from it. Then, when the time comes, read it again and take even more!

thanks neale.5
philosophy? new age religion? probebly both. 'friendship with god' is a wonderful story, told in first person (the writer [thank you neale. god bless you!]) about a developing relationship between two subject who, constantly, become one.
the relationship grows to a closnes/bond as both (one!) finish each other sentences and helping, together, to choose which words will describe a certain idea. and the ieas are flowing . i whole heartly recomend this book, and, when you finished look out for more books by the same writer. enjoy!
