Customer Reviews

'Magic'4
Swann Jones gives a succinct, clear history of the fairy tale and examines the way these narratives have shaped our every day lives. It has some excellent chapters on lesser the impact of male and female protagonists in fairy tales, examining why the female protagonist is favoured in fairy tales. He also compares the popularity of folk with fairy tales, and asks why fairy tales have endured. This is an invaluable book for anyone studying the fairy tale or wanting to learn more about where the fairy tales we hear today came from.
