Editorial Reviews
Amazon.co.uk Review
Wildlife Photographer of the Year is a magnificent collection of 115 pictures and comprises the winning and commended photographs from the BG Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition, representing the work of amateur and professional photographers from around the world. Each turn of the page will astonish you with the glory, beauty, and fragility of the natural world. The competition and the book itself are divided into categories such as Animal Behaviour, the Underwater World, In Praise of Plants, Animal Portraits, Wild Places, the World in Our Hands, and, of course, the terrific images from the Young Wildlife Photographers of the Year. Readers can't help but marvel at images of a blue whale mother and her calf migrating northwards along the west coast of America, or be impressed by the magnificent sight of a bull moose in the burning sunset of an Alaskan evening, be chilled at the grotesque pose of a lion holding a doomed zebra foal, or be horrified at a vivid street-level photo of green iguanas trussed and destined for curry in Guyana, South America. To deepen your appreciation of the images you see, each photograph is accompanied with information of what you are seeing and how these breathtaking shots were taken. As such as glorious celebration of the wonder and importance of nature, "Wildlife Photographer of the Year: Portfolio 11" is a wonderful gift for all the family.--Fiona Buckland

Customer Reviews
Stunning photography, but spoilt yet again.
Stunning photography, as all these Portfolios have been since the beginning. But again, the editors have elected to spread the pictures across two pages more often than not.
This detracts from the pleasure of looking at them, taking away some of the quality of the picture. I feel it must be disheartening for the photographers to see their great achievements carved up, and it has taken away some of the pleasure I take in looking at this book.
Since the BBC has taken over publishing, the quality has diminished a little. Portfolio 10, which came out last year was no better than this year. Such a pity to spoil such wonderful work.
Simply Breathtaking
There are many so-called "coffee table" books out there but this publication stands out in leaps and bounds. The photographs defy the imagination and are an absolute pleasure to behold. Highly recommended!!!!
