The Guitarist's guitarist!
The work of Allan Holdsworth is reasonably well known yet very little is ever written about his technique or structure. In this book which includes many early photographs, his whole philosophy and attitude to music is revealed and discussed. In addition there is extensive sheet music and chord diagrams to illustrate his unique approach to chord voicings and related scales, as well as short histories of the songs and how they came about and invaluable performance notes to enable a reasonable accomplished player to go some way towards understanding Allan's remarkably complex music. If there is a critiscism it is probably that nobody without a basic knowledge of music will understand any of it! But for any fans of Allan's works, especially the earlier stuff then it is an invaluable guide to his playing, his thinking, and his life.
