Customer Reviews

A genuine page turner5
I started this book during my usual Sunday morning lie-in yesterday. Once I started, I just had to finish it.

It moves at a lively pace and dips into the emotions of both sisters. Various sub-plots involving other family members and friends captivate and keep the story moving swiftly. There's some oh-so-sweet revenge too, just for good measure. This book delivers the goods and leaves your reading-muscles satiated. Don't read this book if you need to be somewhere else - you'll not be able to put it down.

A very satisfying read5
I'm only about a quarter of the way through this book (I have the American version: "Grace and Favor", but thought I'd write a review now, as the book is such a satisfying read!) I love Caroline Upcher's style of writing, every sentence seems to carry so much meaning and everything flows so very smoothly. Miss Upcher's characterization technique is faultless, and readers will be able to empathise with both central characters, each of whom has her own, individually distinctive narrative style. The storyline will appeal to readers from both sides of the Atlantic, as Grace lives on Long Island, USA, while Favor lives in London, England. It's a bittersweet story of the love between two sisters who have only just recently found each other after lived separately their entire lives. A very satisfying read, indeed, recommended.

ITS A SAD STORY WITH ITS HAPPY TIMES5
