Customer Reviews

Informative and entertaining -- what else could you want?5
This book is a real eye-opener, especially for those of us who have yet to publish a book. What I liked most about it is the light touch -- some of this material has the potential to be real dry, but the authors manage to keep it funny and thus keep the reader's attention, in the finest tradition of the 'Complete Idiot' series. Also impressive is the documentation -- there are a lot of good resources in here, from info on authors' groups to the telephone number for the prayer line.

The first book that really takes you inside the business..5
I've seen other books on getting published that were pretty standard, but I really feel like I got my money's worth from this one. While reading it, I felt like I was sitting cross the table from the authors at a lunch meeting. The anecdotes and style made it an easy read. I feel more empowered and more importantly more motivated. The author was frank and honest, but at the same time, encouraging. It's a great book!

This book is a perfect example of its own helpful message5
There is something almost humorous about how well this book finally achieves what so many before it have attempted--a simple, straight forward, readable, succinct and enjoyable reality guide to traveling the highway from idea to well-marketed book.

Not only does it corral all the key points to be made about every step of the process, it makes it clear how to do them, and in the process it serves as its own best example of how to write and put together a how to book.

This is a book for even the very smart and experienced to use as a check list, as well as being a most reassuring and helpful guide for the complete ingenue. It is also a very enjoyable read.
