DVD Description
The extended Director’s Cut of the international hit What the BLEEP Do We Know!? includes new scientific findings that supplement the original movie, and goes more deeply into the concepts explored. In What the BLEEP – Down the Rabbit Hole, interviews are lengthened and a full 95% of all interviews is never before seen footage exploring the links between quantum mechanics, neurobiology, human consciousness and day-to-day reality.

Featuring an hour of new interviews and two new scientists, Dean Radin, Ph.D., and Dr. Masaru Emoto, and author of The Field, Lynne McTaggart; and introducing Dr. Quantum in 20 minutes of new animation, this is the deeper film exploration audiences have been asking for.

The original storyline, which follows the journey of professional photographer Amanda (played by Academy Award winning actress, Marlee Matlin) as she comes to understand the sources of her depression and slowly change her life, is slimmed down to make room for more in-depth interviews with sixteen of the world’s top physicists, engineers, physicians, biologists, researchers, journalists and mystics, who talk about consciousness, psi research, physics, biology, emotion and addictions.

The scientists are the stars of this movie, and there’s no forgetting it. But they, too, are human. Never does the movie elevate them and their information as above ordinary human understanding. Indeed, the movie’s power and magic lies in the fact that it really makes us understand how human beings are connected to each other - to the whole universe - and how we all affect reality.

Quirky animation highlights much of the film, introducing highly complex scientific concepts in a simple, understandable way. Done with humor, precision, and irreverence, these scenes are only part of what makes this director’s cut unique in the history of cinema, and another true winner.

Synopsis
Applying basic principles of quantum physics to human psychology, this film consists largely of interviews with experts in related fields, who pose existential questions and answer them with theories of endless possibilities. They explain that reality is only as we define it, that matter is permeable, and that experiences in life should be approached as controllable by the human mind. Opening doors to broad ideas - that we could exist simultaneously in many realities, that we could be in multiple places at once, that we could observe ourselves from outside our bodies, that time travels backwards and forwards - experts encourage positive thinking and open-mindedness. A situational plot involving a deaf photographer who is assigned to work at a Polish wedding serves to illustrate how the theories discussed could be applied to everyday experiences. Meanwhile, intense sequences of computer animation offer illustrations of outer space, the neural functions in our brains, the way that various hormones work, and even some funny Jello-like characters representing chemical reactions in our bodies. A raucous soundtrack of 1980s tunes - Robert Palmer's Addicted to Love, and Animotion's Obsession among them - adds to a jarringly dynamic score. For viewers who gravitate toward New Age theories of enlightenment and self-knowledge, or those who enjoyed the sci-fi plotlines of television series like 'Star Trek', 'Quantum Leap', and 'Witchblade', this film will be a welcome addition to their library.

Makes you pause and think4
Yes the Dvd has its faults - the UK version is missing some elements as pointed out below.

It tries to look at the interface between quantum science and spirituality - something which can easily annoy both scientists and the religious. Some of the observations made are too 'new agey' for my taste. However, there is a lot that does make you pause and think - the application of entaglement theory to relationships; the power of our intention on the world around us; the way in which quantum physics explains so much that native spiritual traditions have claimed for so long.

For a reviewer to use Dawkins to counter the contents of the Dvd is interesting as he is increasingly being marginalised as someone who twists the facts in order to support his neo-darwinist theories; so it would come as no surprise to read that he strongly criticises the DvD. After all, Quantum physics is doing a lot to discredit neo-Darwinism.

Watch it with an open mind - I am sure you will find it thought provoking and challenging!

Pure Propoganda Piece1
The makers of this film misrepresent science (perhaps deliberately) in order to further their own adgenda.

According to Wikipedia, all 3 directors are devotees of 'Ramtha's School of Enlightenment', an organisation founded by a medium who reckons she can channel the ancient warrior, 'Rathma'. Rathma apparently led the war against Atlantis 35,000 years ago & his teachings became the cornerstone of virtually all the worlds religions & philosophies, from Ancient Egypt to Hinduism, Socrates & Da Vinci. I think that says a lot about the validity of the 'science' that is spouted.

Many scientists - including Richard Dawkins - have come forward to say that many scientific concepts have been twisted out of context. Dr. David Albert, who was featured in the film, says that the film was edited to make it seem like he agreed with claims he does not accept. It also draws heavily on pseudoscience, such as the erroneous claim that people only use 10% of their brains (we only use part of it at any one given time because different parts do different things).

So basically, you're being asked to pay £18 for a crackpot institutions' propoganda, when most places give away leaflets for free. Look it up on Wikipedia before parting with your money.

COSTA LOT5
This little set must have cost a lot to put together in terms of time, money and effort, so I give it five stars for that alone. As for the content, it warrants about three or four stars. Far too mind boggling to become accepted as the cutting edge of science in the field of quantum physics.
