Synopsis
This text describes a number of electronic circuits most of which are quite simple, which can be used to enhance the performance of most short wave radio systems. The circuits covered include: an aerial tuning unit; a simple active aerial; an add-on b.f.o. for portable sets; a wavetrap to combat signals on spurious responses; an audio notch filter; a parametric equalizer; C.W. and S.S.B. audio filters; simple noise limiters; a speech processor; a volume expander. Other useful circuits include a crystal calibration oscillator, and RTTY/C.W. tone decoder, and a RTTY serial to parallel converter.
