Excellent but not complete
I think Neil Adams book Grips is excellent. He demonstrates both orthodox and unorthodox methods of grips and attacks. He focus on what grip is best for a certain technique. One part of the book deals with gripping strategies and is very useful but the section of gripping tricks is not complete. That's why I don't give Grips the highest rate.
Good, worth buying.
Grips is a helpful book. It teaches methods of control, breaking grips and gripping strategies, as well as what grips work for certain throws, orthodox and unorthodox. A problem I had with it was large sections on right vs. left handed players, which is not a problem I've ever come across before, but I'm sure some would find it superbly helpful. I personally didn't find some sections much use, either because I don't train with any left handed players (although in a competition it may help), because I already knew the information, or because it had little to do with grips. That being said, the helpful information is gold, and this would be a fantastic (albeit shorter) book (for me) if I could edit out the parts that I didn't need.
