Customer Reviews
Well written and very informative.
The whole series from ippon books is great. This book takes a detailed look at the more technical aspects of judo groundwork. This is invaluable to those who need a few finer points in order to correct their techniques. I have tried many of the moves in the book and found almost all to be very workable. There are some fantastic little tips and great escapes contained in this book that I have not seen or been taught anywhere else. I you like Judo then I highly recommend this book. I only pray that Kashiwazaki writes another one.
Technicaly perfect
Like all of the masterclass series this one is not for beginners, but any coach or dan grade without Osaekomi may be missing something from their arsenal. In my opinion this is the best of the series; no matter how I try, I will never be an expert with seio-nage - I'm too tall - but Kashiwazaki's Osaekomi is applicable by everyone. It still amazes me that I go to a club and end up teaching moves from this book that no-one at the club has used before. As a tachi-waza specialist, this book, even more than shimewaza or arm-locks from the same series, has opened up Ne-waza to me. All of the moves are explained clearly and in detail, step by step. If you only buy one book from the masterclass series (you mean you haven't got them all????) this should be the one.
