Product Description

Easy to pick up challenges: including Dodge The Logs; Stomp The Mole, Count Your Steps and many more. Variety of games: 4 single player and 3 multiplayer game modes including battle, team and relay. Total active body movement: using simultaneous movements on the play mat and with the Wii controllers. Great replay value: evaluate individual performance and progress with regular grading. Customisation and more: import your Mii characters to enjoy the fun.

The game includes the specially designed Family Trainer Mat Controller which, when combined with the Wii Remote, lets players get totally physical in a series of crazed challenges. Unlike other games for the Wii which only focus on the arms, Family Trainer gets the feet involved too for total body gameplay. Simple controls and intuitive play make the game easy to just pick up and play, and let players of any age get involved, get physical and have maximum fun.

There are over a dozen frantic single and multiplayer challenges to choose from all based on outdoor challenges amusingly interpreted for the world of Family Trainer, such as river rafting, mine karting, log jumping, rope skipping and much more.

Players can challenge friends or family members on the same mat, or cooperate together, for example trying to balance a runaway mine kart as it hurtles round a gravity defying track. Players can track their progress and set new records for their friends and family to beat, bringing a dose of healthy competition into the madcap mix.

Fun for kids and exercise too....4
We got this a few days ago and have played it a few times now..so far so good. My son was a little reluctant at first but once he got used to the controls he loved it.There are still some games he finds harder than others but older children (he is 6) will probably be ok.

I would recommend getting this instead of Wii Fit if you only want something to get your kids active. The games are fun and more high impact than the majority of the wii fit program, and of course the 2 player element adds to the fun of it. Mine Kart is a great game because you can even have 3 playing at one time...2 controlling the movements of the cart via the mat, and another pumping up the speed using the wii remote!

Most of the games involve running or jumping in some variation, but some are a bit more intuitive than that. The aforementioned Mine Kart it probably the best, along with Whack-a-mole, Board Rider and Skate wotsit. The game only really loses a star in my opinion as I am not sure how long the novelty will last once it has been around a few months, I suppose this really all depends on your childs (or your own) attention span!

Few gripes about the mat, which can be a bit slippy on carpet, it seems to be designed more for hard floors. We have a rug on laminate floor and we have to move it out of the way to play without any grief . so I would recommend getting some rug gripper or similar for this if you only have carpet on your floor. Also it is a bit small for 2 adults or older children to stand on together, I have already had a few nasty whacks on the arm during play!

Overall though, fun game, great physical exercise for your kiddies (think long winter evenings...). almost half the price of the elusive Wii fit and (at time of posting) a darn sight easier to get hold of!!

Fantastic5
Received this game today, kids love it, great fun, keeps you an the kids VERY FIT, my kids are 5 & 7, they picked the actions up very quickly, put me to same, but hey, when they are in bed .........., we LOVED EVERY every minute we played the FAMILY TRAINING.
If you wan to get fit, and not leave the house and spend lots on a gym, then this is the one for you, it will get you fit while having FUN.

Fabulous5
I have both Wii Fit and now Family Trainer - I am surprised as the family trainer gets you far more active than wii fit does. The exercises are simple and fun - especially if there is a group of you as you can all laugh at each others expense.

Very funny, very active, I would definitely recommend this game for light hearted fun and exercise.

The only problem is on the multi player mode, the game mat isn't always big enough for two adults - my family found that when 2 adults were on it they bumped into each other whilst competing.

Otherwise, a fab game!
