Although it took me a little while to figure out how to attach it to the bed once I did it seemed very secure and has worked very well.

Works fine. Little bit fiddly anchoring the gate to the other side of the bed and then making the bed thereafter. Works best on a standard divan type bed. With wooden bases, it has to sit inside the side rail and this means the fold down mechanism is impeded.
