Manufacturer's Description
Peace of mind at a glance
The innovative grobag egg™ changes colour to let you know at a glance whether the temperature of a room is too low, too high or just right, helping you maintain a safe sleeping environment for your baby. As an added bonus it even works well as a gentle night light.
![]() | Easy to understand colour coded system indicates room temperature A yellow glow suggests a comfortable temperature for baby to sleep in, whilst a blue glow suggests it's too cold and a red glow suggests it's too high. The colours act as a reminder for you to cool or heat the room, or to modify the baby's clothing, use a different tog grobag® baby sleeping bag or for non-sleeping bag users to alter the level of bedding. |

Customer Reviews
Gro Egg is 4.5C to warm
We recently purchased have Groegg and have noticed that it always displays the wrong temperature by 4.5C! We also bought a Phillips thermometer for the bath and we also had a few Thermometer Strips, the ones that come free with Growbags. We found that these all agreed with each other but that the Groegg was always 4.5C warmer.
Now 4.5C is a massive amount to be out for a product that's sole purpose is to instantly reassure parents that their child is warm enough. I highly recommend that parents with a Groegg firstly check it against another thermometer and hope that the one I have is just from a faulty batch.
Pretty, but unreliable
I also found the Grobag Egg to be very unreliable. We just happened to have another thermometer in the room, and the two never agreed, with the Grobag Egg sometimes showing quite unlikely readings (usually too high).
On the positive side, if the room does go too cold (and the egg feels like showing it), the blue light is actually bright enough to wake you up, but as it's so hard to decide whether it's giving an accurate reading, even that is a bit useless. Looks pretty as a night light, though.
Egg-cellent Product
I purchased an Egg for my little boys room over a year ago. The product has worked for 24 hours a day, seven days a week since we plugged it in - we never touch it and it has been fine. We have had some power cuts and it just comes back on again afterwards and has been great. It looks really funky in his room and is very useful at night-time as we can just pop our head around his door and instantly check the room temperature without disturbing him. We checked the temperature against some other digital thermometers and we found that all vary by a degree or two, depending upon how they have been calibrated. We have found our Egg to be quite accurate and certainly as a quick visual temperature indicator has been very helpful.
