Customer Reviews
Too much missing from this edition.
Like 'Frenchstudent' and 'Big bad wolf', I purchased this because of the Red Riding Hood cover, and was equally disappointed to find that this story wasn't included.
In fact, this edition has only one thing going for it - namely, that it's so very cheap. But really, prospective purchasers should do themselves a favour and consider spending just a few more pounds - this will get them a *complete* edition of the stories.
confusing
Same here, Frenchstudent. The cover is confusing and a cheat. Riding Hood, Sleepng Beauty, Snow White are excluded, the most popular ones, which annoyed me too. Cinderella is in it though, under the name Ashputtel.
Where should we able to buy the aforementioned tales in English then? I guess i'll post on Penguin Books' page.
Strange Omissions
Yes of course, this book is full of the Grimms' wonderous tales, but I found it peculiar that the illustration chosen for the front cover would be of Little Red Riding Hood, when she is not even one of the stories featured in the book. Neither that, nor Cinderella, cited on the introductory first page, are included, which I found strange. And slightly annoying, since I wanted to study the Red Riding Hood story!
