Product Description

Over the course of numerous uniformly excellent albums, Anti-Flag has established itself as one the most musically accomplished, intelligent, and passionate politically inclined punk bands on the hardcore scene. Unlike similar groups, whose knuckle-headed propagandising rarely gets beyond well-meaning but simplistic sloganeering designed more to incite unrest than to solve problems, the Pittsburgh-based foursome carefully considers its viewpoints before committing them to wax (to the extent that each song is accompanied by an explanation complete with bibliographical references).
Musically, Anti-Flag takes cues not only from old-school masters likethe Exploited and the Descendents, but explores advanced harmonic and rhythmic territory that recalls everyone from thesimilarly minded Rage Against the Machine to legendary Canadian prog-rockers Rush. Of special mention are Chris #2's snappy basslines, which often drive the songs in Bruce Foxton (of the Jam)-like fashion. With super-clean production that rivals the output of any major label wannabes, THE TERROR STATE ups the ante for socially conscious punk by infusing theoft-tiresome genre with welcome doses of spirit, chops, andmusical inventiveness.

Their worst album so far.2
The lyrics are sloppily written. The music is boring. Justin sings most of the time and Chris #2 barely sings, and I really like his vocals...more than Justin's. I mean Justin is ok, but his voice is really high pitched so you can get tired of it after 12 songs. :/

Interesting how they release their worst album before releasing their best. Buy 'For Blood And Empire', which is by far Anti-Flag's finest effort. Also, buy their old CDs: 'Die For The Government', 'Their System Doesn't Work For You', 'A New Kind Of Army', 'Mobilize' and 'Underground Network'. But don't get this one. The only song worth listening to on it is 'Death of a Nation'.

Great band. Great songs. Great album4
This album is quite different to others, but still just as good. The first two tracks on the album "turncoat" (the biggest f**k you to george bush possible) and "rank n file" are quite poppy , but there filled with such immense lyrics and riffs, that you can`t dislike them. From there onwards, the album is like any other a-f album. Tracks 3 - 10 , are all classic a-f songs. Some of the best are 03 - "post war breakout" , an awesome punk anthem, broken down . 05- "power to the peaceful" a great catchy song, with one awesome solo !! i`ts one of my favourite tracks on the album. 07 - "you can kill the protester but you can`t kill the protest" An aweosome angry song, with lyrics raging about how the government has used violence to try and silence protesters ideas. 08- "when you don`t control your government, people want to kill you" this song is truely awesome, filled with catchy lyrics, great riffs, and a nice little solo.

If we skip to tracks 11-13, theres four words to describe them - OUT OF THIS WORLD !!!!!! there incredible. "death of the nation" is the angriest song on the album. "operation iraq liberation" - is just an awsome song getting you ready for the next track.... "one people, one struggle". Probably the best song on the album, the song begins and ends with the band chanting "the people united, will never be defeated. This song is the greatest anthem ever, and a fantastic way to end the album.

By this album !!! you won`t be dissapointed.

The worst anti-flag album2
I am not impressed by this album whatsover, there are a few good moments within it, but no single song lives up to the standard of all of their previous releases. The lyrics are much more simple and do not display the previous level of depth, and the music is inconsistant throughout every song, i find songs such as turncoat completely unlistenable, others fair better but it is still a let down compared to their other material. Buy 'a new kind of army', 'underground network' or any other cd
