***BEWARE - don't watch till all seasons are released***4
I made the mistake of watching the final season, thinking it was the next one after season 8. THANKS A BUNCH PARAMOUNT !!!
Why Paramount have released the Final Season before Seasons 9&10 are released, is beyond me ?

As for the DVD itself, top comedy writing as usual, although I felt 2-3 episodes either fell short of the mark, or were going over old ground. But I guess this it what you expect if you have such a long running series.

This final series is not as good as some of the earlier ones, but still worthy of your DVD collection.

Just waiting in anticipation now to get Seasons 9 and 10 :-)

goodbye to a classic5
After 10 series of top flight comedy it would have been just too easy to have concluded this superb show with sugary sentiment and a crowd of celebrity well wishers, so well done in bringing it all to an end with the same dignity and intelligent humour that has been the hallmark of Frasier since the pilot episode.
The storyline of each character is lengthened but not finished, especially frasier himself whose new life is in fact just about to begin as the last episode ends. And what a final episode as everyone says goodbye there's a lump in the throat as people who you have 'come to know' and care about move on it's like old friends leaving, the parting poem is used to brilliant and lasting effect.
If you haven't seen Frasier yet, then although this is still very funny, you would be better served to start from series one and work forward from there, this show didn't take a while to 'get going', it was funny from the off. Have a hunt around on Amazon and you'll find it going cheap. If you're wondering what it's about it's the lives of the Crane family, big brother Frasier, pompous, spoilt, ivy league educated but likeable, his little brother Niles who is all of the above but also smitten with their fathers physical therapist and their father who is the exact oppposite of them both, down to earth, straightforward and old school.how their lives intertwine and the fascinating people in their lives all combine with the sharpest and funniest script writing to make, what was for my money, the best sitcom ever.
This is one of the most re-watchable shows ever and simply improves both with age and each time it's watched.
There are a couple of half hour behind the scenes extras with this that, although fine, leave you wanting more.
The picture is fine, if a little soft, and the sound a perfectly clear stereo mix.
As sad as it was to see Frasier end at least it went at the top of it's game and with a bang.
