DVD Description
Howard and Vince, two workers in a run-down zoo, are often called upon to put their jobs before their pride. That means dressing up as animals and sitting in cages because their boss, American entrepreneur Bob Fossil, can't afford any real animals. Vince accepts the situation happily, quite in contrast to his grandiose, tweed-wearing colleague. But their jobs involve much more than just dressing up. From battling mutant animals engineered in a secret laboratory underneath the zoo, to fighting a kangaroo to raise money for their dilapidated workplace, Howard and Vince always find themselves at the centre of some very strange events

Joyous
I heard Bob Mortimer describe the Mighty Boosh's comedy as "joyous" and immediately realised that thats what makes it SO good. You're just watching naturally funny people on the same wavelength having a laugh, with some surreal plots and crazy costumes thrown in...and its the best comedy you'll ever see.
Charlie come a Charlie come, he's a hubba bubba nightmare!
I missed this series on TV but purchased the DVD on the recommendation of my friends and I'm glad I did. I love the surreal strangeness of the series, along with the "IT Crowd" and "Darkplace" it one of the best British comedies to appear in the last few years.
The Mighty Boosh
I have just watched the first eight episodes of the Mighty Boosh and I'm still not sure what to make of it. Whilst there are undoubtedly some moments of comedy gold, there are also many moments of pretentious nonsense.
People keep telling me how original the Boosh is but I can't see anything that original at all. All the surrealist gags and DIY costumes are lifted straight from Reeves & Mortimer. There's nothing necessarily wrong with taking inspiration from another comedian, Fielding and Barratt are funny in their own way but it sometimes gets a little contrived. The real humour is in the bizarre conversations between them. The ridiculous bickering results in endlessly quotable lines that will no doubt be repeated in student unions across the land for many years to come. I can see why people enjoy the Mighty Boosh but I found it a little too surreal for the sake of it and Noel Fielding's dandy foppish antics started to grate on me after about ten minutes.
