Synopsis
No show captured the eccentricities of New York like the Larry David-created sitcom Seinfeld. Helping to define America's view of New Yorkers, the series gained endless fans over its nine series run. Though it wasn't the first show to assert the rudeness of New York's citizens, its characters are selfish to a fault--not that there's anything wrong with that. Self-obsessed comedian Jerry Seinfeld is joined in the cast by his neurotic ex-girlfriend, Elaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus); his chronically lazy pal, George (Jason Alexander); and Cosmo Kramer (Michael Richards), who takes the sitcom cliché of the weird neighbour to impressive new heights. Despite their faults (or perhaps because of them), they're some of the most hilariously watchable characters in television history. The entire series is presented here.

Well worth it
Ok...some people have complained that they've spent their money buying each series separately and now feel ripped-off. I guess I'd be a tad annoyed too. I had personally purchased series 1/2, 3 and 4 but could not go past buying the entire set. I gave the spare ones to a friend as a birthday present. I know, a bit cheap of me really, but he's over the moon and hasn't a clue - unless he reads this..... The box set is brilliant and includes a book (if you care to read it, which I haven't yet). The show does seem a bit dated and you really begin to see how it came very close to jumping the shark by series 8. But think of the comedy shows from that era from America - they were all soap operas trying to be funny (like Friends), where Seinfeld was just good old fashioned wit. I am about to restart from the beginning again. Love it.

A superb box set
At the risk of sounding smug, I didn't buy the series sets as they came out and made do with video recordings and repeats until the inevitable complete set arrived. I'm glad I waited, this is probably the best made box set of any TV show ever made.
I sympathise with those who bought the series sets and now feel cheated. But this is so good I'd recommend they flog their sets on eBay and buy this.
