	The Wire : Complete HBO Season 1 Buy new: £14.66 / Used from: £14.54 Very under-rated cop/gang drama featuring some amazing acting. One of the most rewarding shows you'll see once you've got your head around all its' complexities.
	The Shield - Season 1 [2002] Buy new: £9.98 / Used from: £5.35 Gritty cop drama that follows a group of tough, but corrupt cops. Great acting and writing. The show 24 wishes it had the balls to be.
	24 : Complete Season 1 Buy new: £23.48 / Used from: £14.00 The ultimate in DVDs for a weekend in. Non-stop action, fairly good acting and multiple stories per season. Losing it's edge now a little but still essential TV.
	Curb Your Enthusiasm - Series 1 - 4 (9 Disc Box Set) (Exclusive to Amazon.co.uk) Buy used from: £34.99 Not really for everyone but fans of Seinfeld and those willing to stick with this and appreciate Larry and co's quickness of mind will love this.
	Seinfeld: Season 4 Buy new: £10.98 / Used from: £8.99 The most "ahead-of-its-time" comedy ever. The acting is second-to-none and this fourth season is a real landmark for the show Friends wishes it could've kept up with.
	Prison Break - Series 1 - Part 1 [2005] Buy new: £23.08 / Used from: £11.50 "Escape from Alcatraz" on acid. Some brilliantly-loathable characters (T-Bag anyone?) and some nice touches in the escape plan keep you smiling throughout.
	Extras : Complete BBC Series 1 [2005] Buy new: £9.28 / Used from: £1.87 Ricky and Steve are victims of their own success. Although not received by critics as well as The Office, this is pure genius and almost as revolutionary as Curb Your Enthusiasm.
	Everybody Loves Raymond: Complete HBO Series 1 Buy new: £15.97 / Used from: £15.97 Has it's high and low points but I'll recommend this purely on the fact it features the best Pilot episode of any show I've seen. Doris Roberts as Ray's Mum is hilarious.
	Nip/Tuck - Series 2 Buy new: £14.67 / Used from: £10.00 Great series which really found it's feet in series two. The "Carver" sidestory was the most gripping story in any show at the time and the finale really shows Lost how it should be done!
	Arrested Development - Season 1 Buy new: £17.98 / Used from: £14.50 So under-rated it's criminal. A little like a real-life Family Guy with it's flashbacks and the array of characters is right up there with The Royal Tennenbaums
	Brass Eye - Series And Special [1997] Buy used from: £9.50 What can I say? Pure genius TV that has to be seen if not for the constant and numerous hidden laughs, than to save you from massive ridicule once people find out you still haven't caught this.
	Big Train : Complete BBC Series 1 & 2 [1998] Buy new: £12.78 / Used from: £8.09 The little-known show from the creators of Father Ted. In my opinion, this set some milestones and certainly influenced the likes of Trigger Happy TV with it's "guys dressed up as animals" gags.
	The Adam And Joe Show [1996] Buy new: £16.59 / Used from: £11.99 I loved this at the time although some of the full series is showing it's age. However, this "best of" is full of some really great material. Very original.
	Peep Show - Series 2 [2005] Buy new: £4.98 / Used from: £2.40 Black comedy at it's best. Also, this second series features more genius jokes that play on it's "first person" camera perspective.
	Homicide: Life on the Street: The Complete Seasons 1 & 2 (REGION 1) (NTSC) Buy used from: £10.62 For me this is where it all started. A terrible thing to say but a bit more swearing and violence really would've completed this.
