A pricey object but so well constucted that it is certainly worth the outlay. I particularly like the built in spirit level which is a great aid to ensuring your pictures are level. The large SLR/Zoom Gorrillapod is not a viable item without the addition of a ball head as there is no type of adjustment on it and thus it's incredibly difficult to level a camara. It is certainly strong enough to hold and SLR and attached Zoom.

Nice and Sturdy4

I bought this tripod head for my gorillapod SLR-Zoom. I have a nikon D80 with an 18-200m lens and it holds up the weight just fine. Very happy with my purchase!

Quality bit of kit. It feels well made if a bit expensive unlike the Gorillapod SLR tripod which I felt to be absalute junk and consigned to the bin. The socket head will find a use with a more traditional tripod once purchased.
