Amazon.co.uk Review
Vicious Foxwolf , Urgan Nagru--a fox who long ago discovered the body of a wolf and skinned it to wear as his own--is holding the young Mariel and Dandin captive. The pair are at the mercy of the evil despot and have only one hope of survival. But can they really count on the legendary freedom fighter, Martin the Warrior, to come to their rescue?

The Bellmaker, A Tale of Redwall, fairly boils over with passion, intrigue and adventure. A true page-turner, the heat is immediately turned on full, and never cools until the close of the very last chapter. Brian Jacques' skill lies in creating fantastical yet believable characters, placing them in a fantastical yet believable setting and then letting rip with a flood of imagination that takes the breath away. One of the best writers of our time, Jacques comes through once again for his readers in this remarkable tale of good triumphing over evil. (9 years and over) --Susan Harrison

The Bellmaker5
The Bellmaker, a tale of Redwall, is an excellent tale about Joseph The Bellamker who is visited in a dream by Martin The Warrior, a Redwall legend. In the dream he is told what to do, where to go, and who should accompany him on his quest.

The quest is, to go and find his daughter, Mariel, and bring her back to Redwall Abbey. For war is coming to Redwall.

Of course, there's got to be an enemy. In the Bellmaker it is the Urgan Nagru, the evil Fox.

In this book there is an excellent battle, as in most Redwall books, whcih really tops it all off. It is excellently written, a definite for anyone who even vaguely likes an action-packed book. It is another great tale of Redwall.

I really enjoyed this book, I think anybody would, however, it is no easy read. the speech in the story uses lots of slang, and sometimes I found myself going over the lines of dialogue again, having to re-read the speech so that I could properly understand it. This is the only fault with the book, and it is a fairly minor one.

9.7/10 FABULOUS!!

A beautifully written book; certainly the best in the series5
This was the first Brian Jacques book I ever read, pointed out to me by my mother in the library. At first I put off reading it because I thought "A book about MICE?!?! How ridiculous!" but when I finally did sit down to read it, I was hooked from the first page. The characters are all so believable, and it is so easy to relate to them! The Bellmaker follows a very definite Brian Jacqes style... Some friends are gained, some are lost... there's a great adventure, and, of course, there's a BIG feast at the end!!
A brilliant read, with a good reason to cry at the end!

The best Redwall book!5
At the end of the last tale Mariel and Dandin of Redwall set off South to seak adventure! In this story adventure is what they get! Joseph the bellmaker (Mariels father) dreams of the trouble his daughter and her companion are in. The redwallers fight this time the evil foxwolf Urgan Nagru ad Castle Floret!
