Customer Reviews
Demands a very high level of skill, but pays dividends
The previous reviewer is right - it does take some getting used to if you have made your way up using Armortecs and/or Nanospeeds. The outstanding power of the Arc 10 can only be accessed by a very sharply accelerating swing, so beginnners and intermediates might find it frustrating and overly expensive. The balance is even, feeling slightly more head heavy than a Nanospeed 9k, but still moves well at the net. The frame cuts through the air MUCH faster than any other racket, though, so timing will need adjustment, especially on overheads (you'l have to swing later).
It is an EXTREMELY substantial racket, with a very reassuring weight even in 3U. I string mine at 31 lbs and I have supreme confidence it its ability to cope with this tension. The fit and finish are of outstanding quality all round - even the fitted grip is good!
Hard to describe the benefits of the Arc 10, as it isn't as stiff as the stiffest rackets but somehow manages to be just as powerful, while being just as good on the defensive as the top-end Nanospeeds. It's also one of the few rackets that I would feel comfortable using in both doubles and singles, but I would lean very slightly in favour of doubles unless you have a very strong and durable wrist. My backhand smashes improved in almost no time at all - you just have to unload all your power as quickly as possible.
If you are user of Armortec and Nanospeed then you will not like playing with this.
This is the latest Yonex rackets on the market for now. I have played with many Yonex Rackets and I was expecting a lot from Arcsaber 10 but I was really disappointed with it. I played more than 3 or 4 days with some difficulties compared to Armortec 900 and Nanospeed 9000X. It does seem to be even balance racket but it does not play like one. I was miss-hitting a lot of simple shot and I could not get more than 20% of my backhand over head shots in. Yet when I play with Nanospeed or Armortec I get them in with some power in it. The Racket looks great with the paint work at the side. I was playing with BG68Ti string on all three of my rackets. I would not recommend Arcsaber 10 to anyone who is not very top level player. If you are user of Armortec and Nanospeed then you will not like playing with this.
Amazing weight
A well nice racket with a well nice weight to it. I bought this for my girlfriend, who got a bit jealous of me buying an Arcsaber7 for myself a while back. So I thought that I'd go all out and get this one for her. The Arcsaber7 is so light you'll have trouble remembering you've actually got it in your hands at times, but this Arc10 seems to have a tiny bit more weight in the head, lending itself to being easier to pick up and get the hang of a bit quicker that the 7. Lovely colour too!
