About the Author
Eric Carle is an internationally bestselling and award-winning author-illustrator of books for very young children. He was born in New York, but spent his early life in Germany. He returned to the States in his early twenties and worked as a graphic designer for the New York Times. He went on to be the art director of an advertising agency before he began writing and illustrating children's books. Eric lives in Massachusetts with his wife, Barbara. The Carles opened The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Massachusetts in 2002.

An absolute joy!
What a delight this book is - an old, well-loved favourite brought to life in a new and exciting way. A very special book for sharing across generations - but definitely not one to let little hands loose on!

Great Pop up book
Bought this pop up book for my 2 year old daughter and she makes me read it to her at least 3 times every day. within a week she has learnt the days of week. and she enjoys the pop up effect and the flaps to lift...and the lovely shiny butterly at the end.
