Customer Reviews
Beautiful voice, but dated production
I bought this CD on a whim. I love Barbara Dickson's voice and the feeling she brings to each song. The range, strength, style and feeling is imprinted on every track of this CD, but it wasn't without disappointment; not from Barbara, but from the production. Although advertised as 1996 all of the recordings are from 1974 to 1977 and it sounds dated (a picture paints a thousand words, so look at the CD cover). Despite that the music is still enjoyable and the voice beautiful.
Barbara Dickson at her best
I've been a huge fan since 1975, saw her live many times and bought all the early albums on vinyl.
Three of her finest 'Answer Me' 1976,'Morning Comes Quickly' 1977 (my favourite) and the very underrated 'Sweet Oasis' 1978 unfortunately have never been released on CD, but this compilation does include all ten songs from 'Morning Comes Quickly' and quite a few from 'Answer Me'
A great voice I never tire of hearing but I wish those other two albums I mentioned would appear on CD.
Highly recommended.
