Customer Reviews
At last - a compilation with something new!
When I first saw this I thought 'Do we really need yet yet one more Barbara Dickson compilation'? I mean, how many are there with pretty much the same stuff on them all? On this occasion though, I was pleasantly surprised. Culled from Barbara's time at Epic, this has some stuff that is appearing on CD for the first time. The previous reviewer praised 'Surrender To The Sun', and I agree - this track alone is worth digging into your pocket for! Of course, 'January February' has been dusted off YET again, and I'm not saying it's not good, but there's so much here that's better - and at not much more than the price of a CD single!
All we need now is someone to bring out the 'Sweet Oasis' album on CD....
A massive addition
Although this CD may be percheived as yet another compilation...think again. There are two clear reasons that should encourage the purchase of this CD. Firstly, Barbara was the first person to record Come Back With The Same Look In Your Eyes from Andrew Lloyd Webber's Tell Me On A Sunday. This is an excellent version and gets it's first ever release on CD. The song was only ever released as a 7 inch single. Secondly, the haunting Surrender To The Sun. This is a Mike Batt composition which featured on Barbara's best selling album All For A Song. Again, this is the first time it has been released on CD.
In addition, there are many strong tracks from Barbara's SONY back catalogue.
This CD is an absolute must for anyone that appreciates this talented artist. BUY IT!!!
