DVD Description
Barbie Presents Thumbelina is a brand new tale with the classic character. Meet a tiny girl named Thumbelina who lives in harmony with nature in the magical world of the Twillerbees™ that’s hidden among the wildflowers. At the whim of a spoiled young girl named Makena, Thumbelina and her two friends have their patch of wildflowers uprooted and are transported to a lavish apartment in the city. Here they learn of construction plans that threaten to destroy the land of the Twillerbees™. Harnessing the magic of nature, Thumbelina sets out to prove that even the smallest person can make a big difference.
Synopsis
Inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s popular tale, this colourful cartoon sees Barbie trying to preserve her enchanted land, Twillerbees, from the intrusion of some unscrupulous constructors.

Colourful film for girls with environmental message
Thumbelina is a Twillerbee who along with her friends can make plants grow faster. When she is accidentally transported to the home of a spoiled rich girl in the city along with 2 of her friends she tries to save her home from being destroyed. The story is nothing to do with the Hans Christian Anderson story at all. The girl's parents give in to anything she wants but barely have any time to spend with her. The message to young girls is that it doesn't matter how small you are, you can make a difference to the environment even if you only plant one small tree. Although I find this constant environmental thing pushed down our children's throats a bit annoying at times, the Barbie movies are always made in such a way that it is acceptable. My daughter (aged 6) sat all the way through this, really getting into it, getting excited at the adventure parts, crying at at the happy parts and cooing ooooh at the new Twillerbabies. The next movie to come out is Barbie and the Three Musketeers, I have a feeling that might be better.
A nice story but nothing like the orginal fairy tale
I bought this thinking it was the orginal story of Thumbelina but it is only the name that is similar however, it is still entertaining and my girls (aged 6 & 7) love it.
Most enjoyable
Barbie Thumbelina
Just the right thing to keep little girls entertained on dark, rainy afternoons.
