Alessi Gianni Jar
Great jar which I use for dog biscuits! We have black marble in the kitchen so the yellow looks like lime green and stands out.
Although the minute the lid is open the dog goes mad for his din-dins.
I usually hand wash it and found the price offered on Amazon the best value.
Perfect size, great design
I have about 6 of these jars, and then had to buy some more for my relatives and their kitchens.
They are glass, so easy to clean, and the lids fit really well and are easy to wash.
To grab them from the shelf you can 'hold them by the neck' so to speak and the lid won't come off.
The best feature for me is that their capacity is slightly over a kilo/ litre, so when I have some sugar left in the jar and buy another kilo bag, there is room for both.
The long 'pasta' size is great too.
Sometimes if you fill the jar to the top, Gianni the little man interferes with it, but that's the fun of it, seeing how far into it he's going to be buried :)
I'll keep buying more and more...
Humour in the kitchen
Humour in the kitchen, and why not? I have a collection of these jars and I love them. They keep whatever you store in them totally fresh - they don't taint. The lid is easy to take off and put on. They look lovely and cheerful. I like them when the container is nearly full and you get the idea that the wee man is hanging on for dear life! It's one of these jars that allegedly inspired Noel Gallagher of Oasis to write the song Champagne Supernova!
