About the Author
Written and illustrated by Beatrix Potter (1866-1943). Her passion for the natural world lay behind the creation of her famous little books. A particular source of inspiration was the Lake District where she lived for the last thirty years of her life as a farmer and conservationist.
Customer Reviews
Perhaps too little...
Lovely stories, set in the English countryside. Perhaps some of the references / vocabulary is a little antiquated for today's children, but they are still nice books for parents to read aloud. Be careful however, when they say 'miniature' they mean it! The text is very small, particularly the smaller text used for the songs etc. I have very good eye-sight and still struggle at times.
Classics you must never forget
All i can say about this little collection,is that it is a MUST, it MUST be introduced to every living child (who speaks English of course) A real marvel to own, innocent and fun little tales of little animals getting up to no good, but so finely tasted, classically written, It's as if you are reading in the times of the late 18th century, the language adds the old rustic humour.
This collection is both for the young old and in-between,
Great little present for a new arrival
This was a lovely little present for a new arrival. The timeless stories are great for all ages of children and unlike some of the characters around these days, don't annoy or irritate the adult!Vey small writing though so if you wear glasses you will need them. My daughter (18months) loves hers and likes putting them in and out of the box and looking at the pictures.
