Customer Reviews

Fabulous!!5
Nicky has a fantastic tenor voice - and so young!!
He has a warm lower register which ascends beautifully into the most marvelous top notes with no pushing or straining. Watch out for him live - he is even better in person!!
Looking forward to the album later this year.

ABSOULTE STAR FOR THE FUTURE!5
I saw Nicky singing at the Classical Brits and his voice and honesty shone like the star his is set to become this year. This EP is really something special. The lush arrangements by Chris Hazell don't overcomplicate the beauty and simplicity of the Burns and the Handel is sung with the same sincerity as many a Handelian Tenor. Nicky obviously seems to have the same love for music as Kenneth McKellar but the beauty and accomplished singing of 'A Chloris' really sets him apart from all the other singers on the UCJ label. At 22, this boy can surely only get better... I just can't wait for the album.

Brilliant EP5
Wow - what a refreshing voice! This 4 track EP is the first I've heard of Nicky Spence and on this evidence he looks set to become a huge star. The first thing that hits you is the real quality in his voice. There is an emotional depth to his voice which can be heard on all 4 tracks. It is genuinely hard to pick a highlight here as they are all so good, but perhaps 'My Love Is Like A Red Red Rose' just edges it, with it's beautiful melody and wonderful arrangement. Judging him on this great introduction this young Scottish tenor looks set to take the classical world by storm.
