Truly amazing!
THIS PROCESSOR IS TRULY AWESOME! I have mine overclocked to 3.6ghz on a stock fan. It idles at 54 degrees max fully loaded with a voltage of 1.425 on amd overdrive! Hope that helps you!

Fantastic Processor
This is what I had been waiting for from AMD; fantastic processor and so easily overclocked with the unlocked multiplier.

As a developer this processor is fantastic running it with 8GB of OCZ Platinum RAM with a motherboard running the AMD 790GX chipset; and let me tell you this system flies best processor purchase I have made in the last 5 years.

I have owned this for a long time now, and it has never failed to please me.

The second I turned the computer on after installing the cpu, it felt like the power (12ghz) was just oozing out of it! To my surprise it installed XP after 10mins and as soon as I loaded windows, it just handled every game and application I could throw at it, despite the Radeon 4670 card I had!

I also have to praise the stock cooler; after most of my computing experience with Socket A Athlons, where the coolers were basically grey blocks with case fans on top, the Dual heatpipe cooler for this baby was huge and looked amazing! (from my point of view anyway.) Thermal compound could be better though.

I have managed to Overclock this processor to 3.6ghz with the stock cooler, and barely going over 50c idle temps. The fan is also very quiet. I mean, the POST beep is louder.

Comes with an AMD sticker to put on the front of your case too. =)

So, to conclude:

PROS: Lightninq quick, much more bang for the buck than Core 2 and i5/i7, runs cool and great overclocking ability, even with stock cooler.

CONS: Poor stock compound and way too much of it.

Overall: A great processor, however the money-no-object, serious hardcore gamer should look towards an intel core i7 or i5. But if you haven't got great wads of cash to spend and want a decent gaming processor, then you should definately look towards buying the Phenom II 940.
