    Well constructed4
I used to get the stepladders and extension leads out before I even started. A one hour job has now turned in to a 10 minuter. My conifers behind a ditch were very risky to cut back before I got this.

The trimmer that turned up is the red/orange colour version (not that it matters). These do not extend, they are constantly at a fixed length but it does break down into two for easy storage. They are fairly quiet and not too heavy and have a handy padded section in the middle of the pole which you use when bracing for low to middle height work. It is possible to hold it straight up overhead at arms length but do so at your own risk.

It has a separate Nicad battery which takes about 3 hours for a full charge so leave it on over night before you need it. It is well constructed and sturdy even if you do feel like the chap from Stargate as you walk around with it.

    Simply not up to it1
DONT ! This gimmicky tool is not up to anything except the most minor job trimming leafy twigs. The battery runs out before you've had time think about when to have a tea break. In any event it will run out within 15-20 minutes. The blades are flimsy and get jammed if anything thicker than a gnat's forearm gets in the way. For an item this heavy you would expect more power and muscle, but it is feeble.

I returned mine - its just no good except for maybe whisking eggs.
My advice? - Get one that is mains powered. Rechargable battery technology just isn't ready yet. Petrol powered trimmers are of course more portable but very noisy and of course you have to muck about with fuel etc.

Unless your garden is miles long and unreachable by cable, then get a mains powered trimmer. If your garden is miles long then it's not your concern, since the staff will take care of it....

    Exstended Hedge Trimmer4
The Service from Amazon was first class, Delivery was Excellent, Product was very good easy to use but is quite heavy to use. Battery life around 40-50 mins when fully charged. Its a shame there is no warning when running down and the Battery Charger doesn't show when fully charged or charging. But over all very pleased.
