This strimmer has a 30cm cutting swathe and reflex intelligent cutting system that insinctively knows when to feed out more line. Gear driven, it's powerful motor gives increased torque for greater efficiency and a quicker cut. You can cut around trees, garden furniture and underneath shrubs quickly and easily. A secondary handle is adjustable to the height of the user, making it supremely comfortable to use.

This high performance cordless strimmer, with its nylon cutting wire, is very safe to use.

In addition it has a safety brake which will stop line rotation in under three seconds. Safety switching means it can't be accidently started because two triggers must be pressed before the strimmer can be started.

The 18 Volt battery pack can be charged on the wall bracket or away from the unit.

The trimming head can be twisted to convert it to the Trim n Edge function for tidying lawn edges after mowing.

B&D GLC2500 Strimmer
An excellent product. Light and efficient and so easy to take anywhere. Particularly impressed with the way the line just keeps self feeding without having to keep fiddling about to let out more or to find the broken end inside the spool like many of the earlier strimmers - and no cable to have to hump around and then rewind.

Essentially a tool for the average domestic garden but it will cut down green weeds and smaller nettles without too much trouble. Don't expect it to cope with brambles or woody undergrowth however. The battery life seems fine for a good 30 minutes or so. If you get the hedgetrimmer as well the batteries are interchangeable so you can double your working time. Spools are available at a discount from a number of sources [...] but they don't seem to have caught up yet and are still only advertised for the GLC2000 but are exactly the same (to make sure I got my first replacement from the B&D Spares Centre). A purchase you won't regret!

Good Strimmer
This model strimmer is pretty good. I have given it a lower star rating because of the line that it gobbles up. Perhaps I'm using it wrongly but I have quite a problem with it snapping the line and self feeding. Therefore the line has been used within a few weeks. Putting that aside it is great. The battery lasts for the whole of my garden which is roughly the size of a tennis court. Charging does not take long. It's lighweight and robust. I would not go back to electric cable dragging around the garden.

No more backache
Light and easy to use. Very efficient cutter with a decent battery life. All the awkward tufts in the garden now disappear. Replacement cutting heads easy to get as well. Worth every penny.
