Manufacturer's Description
The Waterproof Case weight WW-DC1 is used in the Canon Waterproof Case to prevent it from floating while taking pictures underwater. Four pieces of weight, plastic pins and weight-securing screws are included in the WW-DC1 package.

Customer Reviews

A good weight4
My only complaint about this product is that it comes seperately. The case I bought was for the powershot G7, and I can't understand why these weights weren't included with or integrated into the case. For this I deduct one star. There are four seperate weight bars and only three are required for the G7.

If you're thinking about not bothering to get these I'd like to endorse them fully. Not only do they adjust the case for neutral buoyancy but they keep the camera oriented correctly, which makes it much easier to compose and take a shot.

I used the case and weights for both pool and sea shoots and apart from some slight condensation inside the case on one occasion in the pool the whole setup has been excellent. After several uses there is a little rust between the main screw and the weights, but careful maintenance as with all diving equipment will prevent/minimise this.

Rediculous1
What a silly product.
Firstly, the weight should be built into the case and not sold as an outrageously overpriced optional extra.
Secondly having made it an optional extra, why is there only one kit for all cases. For the Ixus 750, I need just 1 of the weights and one of the screws. This leaves me with 3 spare weights and a bunch of screws and pins, for which I have no use, but for which I had to part with my hard earned cash.
Hopefully, I can sell these to offset the cost, but even so, what a waste!

Weights could have waited5
I've never actually needed these additional weights.
With a Canon 960 the case is pretty much neutrally buoyant so there's never been a need for the added weight.
One grumble though is that with the collection of pins and screws, to fit the various combinations of number of plates you need something better than the box to store them in. This got wet on the first dive trip and fell apart and if the plastic carrier had been just a tiny bit stronger then this could easily have been tucked into the bottom of another case, as it is all the bit rattle round in the camera bag
