Manufacturer's Description
The EX-S10 is a return to the original values of the popular EXILIM Card series, known for its sophisticated design in an ultra thin card size
This model comes with the latest high-quality movie function that makes the most of next-generation H.264 compression technology. It also features Casio's new YouTube Capture Mode, which enables users to shoot and save movies at the optimum size, quality and other settings for YouTube, the world's most popular online site for sharing videos. Casio has also included an exclusive software application that makes it fast and simple to upload movies to YouTube
The EX-S10 camera also features a blur reduction function that uses motion analysis technology, an auto-tracking AF system, and face detection technology. The combination of face detection technology and the auto-tracking AF system ensures that, once the focus locks on to a person's face, it will stay sharp and maintain the right exposure, even if the person moves. Casio has made it much easier to capture beautiful portraits

A great little camera
I needed to upgrade from my previous Casio 3 mega pixel camera which nowadays is low res and bulky. I like Casio cameras, they are not a brand leader so they come at a more competitive price. This one has good features and takes good pictures. Camera size is lovely. It fits in my handbag which is very handy - it is always there to take out and snap a picture. The on/off button is recessed so there is no danger of it coming to life accidentally and it has a really neat built-in lens cover. The camera is very sturdy, it does not come with a bag but I will make something thin for it - I don't want extra bulk but I want to protect it all the same. It also sits very nicely alongside my imac, and being white and silver is a real design statement. Picture quality is great. Like its predecessor it has Best Shot picture choices and I have taken great action pictures which are very sharp especially with the anti shake feature turned on. Indoor pictures are good too, it compensates for poor light when you do not want to use the flash. The control buttons on the back are very well organised which are familiar to me because of my previous Casio camera. Some control settings can be displayed on the screen (or turned off) but most setting are accessed through a menu button. The only problem I have is that I do not know what half the features are for and they are not explained in the manual but I am reading a book to find this out! The camera does not have a view finder which is not a problem except in bright light when seeing the image on the screen is compromised. Having said that the screen is nice and big. The ability to take movies with sound is a novelty to me at the moment but will be very handy, I'm sure in the future. It does not come with a memory card so remember to get one! The neat little battery charges up in 90 minutes. As a graphic designer I need a fairly good camera but can not cope (or need) anything too complicated. So I'm very pleased so far.
