Produced using the same cast-iron as the Chasseur saucepans, our range of casseroles is also suitable for use on all types of hobs, the even heat distribution and fuel-efficiency of cast iron making cooking easier and more economical. Our range of casseroles means that there is a perfect casserole for every dish and each size of family - each one is ideal for cooking and presenting your favourite meal in style. Chasseur superior quality enamelled cast iron cookware is manufactured at our foundry in the Ardennes region of France. Traditional cast iron cookware has been produced here for over 75 years and although many aspects of the manufacturing process have been modernised, the products still benefit from the well-honed skills of the craftsmen employed there. Your piece of Chasseur cookware has been enamelled twice. First there is a black primer coat which you can see on the rims and the base. This coat acts to seal the edges of the metal, it protects against corrosion and acts as a primer coat for the coloured enamel. The second coat of enamel adds colour to the product and increases the durability of the item, ensuring that it will look good for many years to come and will also be easy to clean.

This is my most used size of casserole dish and my current favourite recipe is:-

'Moroccan Spiced Lamb Shanks with Chick Peas',

using just this one pot .......starting off on the hob and ending up in the oven!

Cast iron is an excellent conductor of heat ensuring an even heat distribution at the lowest of temperatures, so VERY economical, too.

Suitable for all heat sources, hob and oven, including induction.
Knob tolerant of oven temperatures up to 220°C and comfortable handles aid easy, balanced lifting but don't forget your Oven Gloves!

Sturdily boxed, comes complete with a handy little CHASSEUR care booklet, which includes a recipe idea for each product range.

Not only does this pan come in the most vibrant of colours, these creuset casserole pans are wonderful to work with. Because of their thick cast iron bodies they can be used for sauces, stews (especcially Indonesian curries), oven-dishes and you can even use them for stir-fry dishes. Another big plus is that you don't have to use seperate serving bowls because this looks great on your table and it keeps the food wonderfully warm.
There's only one real big disadvantage: they are extremely heavy in weight and they get extremely hot so make sure you use potholders and a firm grip.

Does exactly what it should!
This casserole does exactly what it should, great size for 2 adults and a little extra! First one we received had an issue with the handle melting, however, amazon replaced without quibble and very speedily so we're quite happy.
