Manufacturer's Description
Introducing the first-ever hard anodised cookware range with a copper base!

Cookware specialist, Beka, has teamed up with 3 Michelin star chef Marco Pierre White to bring you the unique Hard Anodized with Copper Collection (1002), part of the White Heat Collection, which combines Hard Anodised Aluminium and Copper to create a stunning new range of non-stick cookware to enhance cooking performance.

The hard anodised aluminium creates a super hard, scratch resistant surface to ensure that the range lasts a lifetime. And, in order to provide a uniform spread of heat across the base, a copper plate has been bonded onto the exterior, offering many of the heat distribution and retention benefits of copper combined with the toughness of Hard Anodized Aluminium.

A lot of time and thought went into every aspect of the range to create the perfect balance between asthetics and performance and Marco Pierre White commented: A pan must be beautiful, practical and functional. This range certainly fulfils all those criteria.

    Great piece of cookware4
I bought this pan a few weeks ago, when it was at a promotional price of £23.98. Since then I've used it for a wide range of dishes, and it's been very good, overall. The heavy base of the pan means it takes a minute or two to get really hot, with my electric hob, but once it's heated it retains the heat very well. It's good for cooking stir-fries and eggs as it retains the heat and the non-stick coating prevents food burning or sticking. It also browns meat nicely, although you don't get the same savoury crust on a steak, for example, that you would get using a griddle or other pan that isn't non-stick. The metal handle means you can pop the pan under the grill or in the oven without damaging it, but be warned that the handle does not stay cool! So far I have been playing it safe and not using metal utensils with this pan, but I think the anodised coating is probably sturdy enough to cope with them. Cleanup is easy, and the branding on the pan is very subtle - just "Marco Pierre White" embossed into the handle, and a small copper "Beka" label on the side; this label has tarnished already on my pan, and while a sachet of copper cleaner is provided I don't think it's necessary for such a small bit of trim. I would definately consider this pan a good investment, particularly if they go on sale again.

    It works!4
Bought this pan a few weeks ago, after seeing MPW on TV explaining that pans need to retain their heat to cook properly. Bought this to try against my cheaper pan. He's right, the pan works! It is great and I think I will buy more. You do have to be careful with it, NO metal utensils at all. They recommend seasoning it first and if washing it in the dishwasher it should be seasoned after each wash. I could not find any inner capacity markings on the pan, but I don't care. The only reason this is not a 5* is that I wish the non-stick was more robust - able to use, within reason, metal. Oh, and the plastic film they put on the bottom is a pain to get off!
