The Lyons C Clarinet is the brainchild of Graham Lyons, well known musician, teacher and composer with sales of over 400,000 woodwind albums to his credit. Lyons saw children struggling with the weight, large tone holes and reach of the conventional clarinet. With the help of the country's best acoustic and industrial designers and three years research and development he has succeeded in producing a serious musical instrument that children can play comfortably four years younger than usual.
The Lyons C Clarinet was launched in 1991 with the enthusiastic endorsement of Humphrey Lyttelton, Sir John Dankworth and the late Sir Charles Groves among many other professionial musicians and teachers. In 1993 this instrument won the coveted British Design Award.
The material of this clarinet ABS for the body and Delrin for the keys makes the instrument virtually immune to serious damage.
