A lot of light for a lightweight
Arrived in a suprisingly small box, inside a headtorch (complete with batteries) in small pouch with a belt loop also instructions sheet.
The unit is very lightweight, nice battery compartment at rear which balances the light unit on the front. Elasticated headstraps are easily adjustable and comfortable to wear, push switch on underside of lense unit easy to use with little chance of being accidentaly engaged during storage. the light unit itself seems a little delicate but this may be due to the fact that I am used to a Petzl Zoom which is larger/heavier unit. The angle of the light unit can be altered which if your using for walking is useful although the instructions do warn about not needlesly adjusting to prevent wear. I used the headtorch last night and tonight for walking the dogs on the local moor which is difficult terrain in the dark, put the headtorch on pressed the switch and WOW those 3 LED's in the reflector unit are amazingly bright no problem at all seeing where I was walking, good light spread with an effective range I would guess to be about 50ft.
In summary a comfortable lightweight and very bright headtorch easily carried in your pocket and uses standard size batteries. If the headtorch was waterproof (not stated anywhere on the box or in the instructions that I can see) and I could guarentee it would survive everday use for a couple of years I would happily give it 5 stars.

Calling all night-time dog walkers
I bought 3 units of this product mostly on the strength of the first review and I can put it as simple as this... "Wow". Yep, that good. I have a pack of 7 large breed dogs and because of work commitments have no choice but to walk them in the dark of winter, night and or morning. As well as road walking we exercise our dogs in nearby cow fields and wooded areas, treacherous in the dark with rabbit burrows, mud slides into the river and pot holes etc. (probably dug by one of my own dogs the night before!). This head-torch is the perfect solution, comfortable, lightweight and well balanced. Subject to adjusting the angle of the torch head you get a nice concentrated spotlight about 4 feet in diameter about 5 to 6 feet in front of you BUT you also get more than adequate peripheral illumination too, which when walking a pack of dogs is perfect for keeping your charges in vision. I can't comment of battery life as I've not had them long enough but for my purpose (as described) I've got to give this product 10 out of 10 in all respects.

Bright and comfortable head torch
I bought this for a night walking race and was impressed with how comfortable it is to wear. Even walking at pace it stayed in place and didn't rub. The light is pretty bright; I was able to light the ground in front of my walking partner, several meters in front of me with no problem at all. Although the metal bulb casing that sticks out a couple of inches looks less robust than some other LED head torches, it actually feels pretty solid. I felt that the hinge that allowed you to tilt the torch down 45 degrees was perhaps the only slightly flimsy part of the torch.
Overall great for walking, perhaps the fact that the torch sticks out a little way might put off climbers or cavers!
