A fair translation of the board game
I agree with the other reviewers who have given this 4 stars, the game is good but the repetition of the Monopoly man can get a little annoying, I'm surprised that there isn't the option to turn him off. The board game is played as you expect and there are various other boards to try as you play more and get your passport stamped. This is one Wii game you can be lazy about as it requires little movement on the controller just the odd (optional) shake of the dice.
Below Average Effort from EA
Got this to replace the Monopoly Party I had on the PS2 (which was excellent). This version is nowhere near as sleek as the old game, with far fewer options, worse graphics, doesn't save your profile with "career stats" like the old one did, and is much slower to finish a game.
For example when playing with computer opponents you have to watch whilst there piece moves onto every single square on its way round the board. (If they hit 'Advance to Go' on the first Community Chest is very tedious!!). On the old Monopoly Party you could just press a button and the piece would automatically jump to its destination.
I was very disappointed by the game and cant believe with Next Gen technology they've acually made a worse version than the PS2 had?! Only buy if very patient.
Monopoly
This is a fantastic game for all those lovers of Monopoly out there. It saves setting up boards and missing pieces after a while. There are many boards to play and the hours of endless fun playing with friends or even against the computer. My girls are Monopoly mad and have played on the game at least 3 times a week and are still not board (sorry for the pun haha). They say the instructions are good and easy to follow so will be able to be played by many younger players. The Monopoly man does follow along a lot and is a little distracting but they put up with him as he is not that bad really. The sounds and boards are great, all different with added elements to keep it entertaining. Overall it is well worth the money and a good game to play inbetween your others.
