Ladies Hybrid bike
If you are looking for a good, almost old fashioned ladies bike - with mudguards (a must), this is brilliant value.
bicycle
As a slightly arthritic old gent I wanted something to transport me to my local pub (3 miles away) without having to use the car, but I was attracted by the 'hybrid' tag because the mountain bike tyres of my previous bike created too much friction on ordinary road surfaces. However my first very gentle 'off road' excursion immediately resulted in a puncture; so much for hybrid. The bike also appears quite lightly built so it would not be my choice if toughness and endurance were prerequisites. The bike also arrived with a slightly buckled wheel which needed to be straightened by a professional. Any financial gains I might have gained from initial self-assembly were quickly dissipated especially as I have suffered punctures in both front and back wheels despite only having had the bike for a couple of months and doing a low mileage almost entirely on normal roads.
Despite the above reservations (hence just 4 stars), the bike is comfortable and easy to ride, so for me the bike has been a pleasing purchase. Oh! And why a ladies bike and pink to boot? I like the continental step-thru designs- a slight loss of rigidity being a trivial price to pay for extra comfort- and who is going to steal a shocking pink bike? If people want to draw conclusions about my sexual proclivities from my choice of mount, well, they would be wrong wouldn't they?
