i just would have liked.....................................
these are pretty good straighteners and the curling is great once you get the hang of it, stopping about 1-2 inches from the bottom of your hair. they give really good wavy curls its just that curling with straighteners would have been easier if they had a button lock to hold them closed so you could twist the hair around them easier although you do quickly get the nack of them.The long plates are much better than standard straighteners and the heat up is amazingly quick mine took 12 seconds and that was on the full heat setting (dont use the full heat setting to curl like i did ,bit singed). but again nowhere in the booklet or on the box does it tell you what the heat settings are, the top one is 230 degrees but are the others going down in increments of 10 or 5 or 50 i dont know?. there is a nice heat mat to protect your table and a nice long cord. the controls are on the side of the straighteners and dont get in the way of your fingers like my digital ones (which were double the price of these). these are just as good as them with the added bonus of curls. i dont miss the digital readout, its not essential and these have a lovely design on the sides.Would have given 5 stars if they had had the locking switch to keep them closed.

Very pretty, and pretty good
This has to be the best-looking straightener on the market - and it curls too!

Good points:

* No locking mechanism to keep the tongs closed
* Narrow straightening surface
* Requires care to use properly

The Babyliss 2082U would be absolutely perfect for someone who loves to style their hair. The options are almost limitless, plus mine came with sectioning clips to help you style the hair professionally.

I have really thick hair. I generally just want it tamed as quickly as possible! I use a Toni & Guy ceramic straightener, which is almost three times the width of this one, and like the fact that I can treat a handful of hair with each stroke. Although the Babyliss heats up faster, I found the narrower surface made it quite difficult to get a smooth finish because I had to treat loads of small sections (and didn't use the styling clips!)

When I had some more time to play with it, this product came into its own. If you section your hair properly and use a high setting (8 for me), you can get a stunningly smooth effect. Reduce the heat to about 4, and the tongs create curls, waves and corkscrews (ringlets) very easily indeed. For those new to curling, there are some good hints in the supplied booklet.

As a hair styler, the Babyliss 2082U is one of those "Why haven't they done this before?" products. With a bit of imagination and patience, it would make any style achievable. For the morning rush - I'm sticking with my "fat" straightener.

I love this trendy hair straightener
I love the slim design in black & gold, very trendy....The best feature on this hair straightener is its 10 heat settings, this is wonderful, as my previous hair straightener was only used once as it singed my hair, there was only 2 settings and they were far too hot...Being fine, different settings are a must for my hair...after my first try with this particular product I was very pleased with the results, my fine blonde hair looked like silk, it got rid of that unwanted frizz and looked so "super straight" I most certainly will be using it again....there is included a heat mat and salon clips, very handy...very good value with a 5 yr guarantee
On the downside the curls are more waves and the info on how to do the curls was not very clear, it took me some time to master it...only to be waves rather than curls...of which looked rather nice...I think it should be renamed Straight and Wave.
