Manufacturer's Description
ASUS VH Series LCD monitors excel at displaying multimedia, making them ideal for users who consume media across multiple platforms and in a variety of formats. An HDMI port enables the delivery of multichannel audio and uncompressed digital video through a single cable, and ensures convenient connectivity with other home entertainment devices, such as Blu-ray Disc players and game consoles. A perfect aspect ratio of 16:9 allows most widescreen content to be played back impeccably—without the additional black bars or image distortion that would be introduced on 16:10 monitors.

Awesome Monitor
This is a great monitor. I upgraded from a 3 year old 19 inch LCD HP monitor that i got when i bought my computer.
I bought this one mainly for the fact it has HDMI input for my PS3 and for the Size of the screen.
I was amazed at how much bigger it is compared to my old one. Its only 4 inches bigger but seems much more.
The picture quality is fantastic, especially when playing PS3 in full 1080p HD. The 3 inputs are very handy as I have my PC connected with VGA, my Xbox 360 with DVI and my PS3 with HDMI, all 3 can be acsessed with just one button.
Overall i would highly recommend this monitor as it is very good value for money.
Excellent Monitor, Excellent Price!
After looking at many different 24-26" LCD monitor specs and comparing prices, I decided to order the 'Asus 24" VH242H' because it features impressive specs (24" screen size, inbuilt speakers, 2 audio outputs (digital and analogue) so you can hook it up to a sound system, full 1920x1080p HD resolution, HDMI, DVI, VGA ports, and offered the best value for money compared to the other LCD monitors I looked at. It also comes with DVI and VGA leads.
I have owned the Asus 24" VH242H LCD monitor for 4 days as of writing this review and have been using it between 7-9 hours each day to perform work related tasks, play PC/Playstation 3 games and watch Blu ray Discs.
Although the monitors default image settings set by the manufacture offered a good overall picture quality, I decided to invest 15 minutes fine tuning the image settings to achieve the perfect image and colour.
Once I had finished fine tuning the image settings, games and high definition content look and play amazingly on this monitor, even better than on my 42" Philips 1920x1080p HD Television!
The monitor feels and looks great! For a monitor of this size (24") It is surprisingly light to pick up by hand and move to the desired location you wish to put it.
This is the perfect monitor for PC work related tasks and PC/Playstation 3 gaming.
I LOVE my new monitor !!
This is my fourth LCD screen (Hannspree > Viewsonic > LG > Asus) and they just keep getting better.
The LG was a 22" only 10 months old but I was never entirely happy with it. The image was a little washed out, backlight bleed around the edges was obvious and it was VGA only - DVI or HDMI is definitely better.
So after much searching of reviews I ordered this Asus and I'm so glad I did. It came with a DVI cable (some monitors that have DVI sockets don't include DVI leads!) and was a doddle to set up. The initial settings were a little harsh on the eyes but once I'd dropped the Brightness to 60% it was perfect. The image is crisp - the colours natural and no backlight bleed. The contrast was spot on from the start at 80% - the gradient from Black to White is good and I can see detail in the shadows of game and DVDs that I just didn't get with the LG.
The 16:9 aspect ratio is a pleasure - games feel more widescreen than a 16:10. Watching TV via my DVB-T card and Windows Media Center the image naturally fills the screen and of course DVDs fill the screen better too.
Yes its a TN panel and like all the TNs the viewing angles aren't great but if only one person is using the screen that's not a problem. The OSD menus and buttons take a little working out but that was the same with all my previous screens.
