good until the cat grew up
Worked well whilst the cat was young but if you have a greedy cat it will not withstand their attempts to open the feeder. Both compartments were ripped off by my cat.

Good overall, but not perfect
I bought this for a cat that kept on waking me up at 3 am because he was hungry and this solved the problem.

It is a fairly good product, though if your cat is the determined sort, then they can break it open. My two cannot open it, but I borrowed it to a friend whose cat did manage to open it.

The cons with this product is that you can only set it at hourly intervals. For example you want it to open it 4 pm, you have to set it at something o'clock (for example you can set it at 7 am, but not 7.30 am) which can be annoying if you are time pressed. Also there is no battery indicator so if the battery gets dislodged or is very low, then you find when you come home that it has not opened and a very hungry cat! (The manufacturers recommend that you change the battery once a year so it is a good idea to mark on your calendar when the battery needs changing.)

The reusable ice pack is a good bonus, which is not always present with other similar products, as it keeps the meat fresh, but if you feed biscuits only (or only use it for a biscuit only feeds) then you do not use it.

However, unlike the other one I have, it is very easily to set up, and each side can be operated independently - great if like me, you are using one side for an am feed and a pm feed.

If they changed the timing mechanism so it was more accurate and gave it a battery indicator then it would be perfect.

I would recommend it for a cat who is not too determined or food obsessed!

Durability
I had this feeder and had to trade it in for a new type of feeder. My cat was able to get both compartments off if a little ingenuity was applied. Neither lid was able to stand the test of time - both snapping where the plastic lid fits into the feeder. This feeder managed to last around 6 uses!! Have also had problems with the upgrade model to this c50. I thought that having a circular mechanism as opposed to a pop-up style would maybe solve this issue. However, if you read my review on the c50 you will see that I am still searching for something which is 'cat proof'!!
