Perfect Mount For My Nuvi 255
I bought this mount a couple of weeks ago and i am very happy with it. The mount is made of silicone and can be easily adjusted to the shape of the cars dashboard. It does not move at all, even when going through narrow turns at high speed. I have a 3 series BMW and a mini cooper. Works perfect in both cars.
When stopping somewhere you just take the nuvi with the mount and hide it in the footwell. When not needed you just fold it and put it into the glove locker. I would buy it again.

Unconvinced by the new Garmin Automotive Friction Mount
I bought this new mount after reading a single review of it. It seemed less bulky than the 'bag of marbles' product that had been on the market some time. The new design has a grippy base that is protected by a peel off sheet prior to first use. The exposed grippy base soon collects debris, especially if stuffed under a seat when not in use. So far no marks have been left on the dashboards but will trapped grit damage the dashboard surfaces in time as the mount vibrates? I don't know how easy it will be to remove debris or how the security of the mount will diminish as its surface degrades.
It is quick to install & remove but due to the relatively stiff base it doesn't blend into the contours of my MX5 dash at all well & vibrates quite badly. It fits much better on my Honda Jazz. Attaching/removing a satnav to the mount is straightforward.
It should be effective if your vehicle has an ample flat area where you would chose to mount it AND have ample 'headroom' under the windscreen in this area.

Great Purchase. I hated the tell-tale signs of suction pad on the windscreen. I thought that I would try this mount and although there is some bounce in base, it has withstood motorway cruising, country lanes and even the odd off-road.
