It didn't last long
Bought this Nov 2007 for a present last Xmas. It lasted around 9 months, then just stopped working. The supplier (via Amazon) was Liberty HomeStores Ltd. They have refused to give a replacement or refund. You've been warned!

Lovely to use - great little handmixer.
I've had this a month now and used it quite a lot and all in all I am pretty happy with it. It's very shiny and pretty to look and the slowest speed seems to be just about right, not so fast that everything gets thrown all over the kitchen. I had a Dualit handmixer before which I was fairly happy with, although it always gave off a faint burning smell which was worrying and was heavier and bulkier than the Kenwood. The Dualit broke after 6 months, it's buttons got stuck in and I returned it to Amazon for a refund.

The Kenwood comes on a little stand for supposedly neater storage but I doubt I will use it for long as it's fiddly to get the cord to store completley away in order to sit it on the stand and I think it takes up more room than just keeping the beaters and dough hooks in the drawer. It really is a lovely mixer to use and as long as it stands the test of time then I think we will be very happy together.

Can't fault it.
Have had this a few months now. Works fine and looks stunning in the kitchen. 5 speed settings, old one only has 3 speed settings so this Kenwood mixer for me can go really fast, which I think is great!

The added benefit of being able to use it by pushing with your thumb and releasing it so you can 'stop-start' your mixing is also very handy, especially for times where you need to get something just right, say with mixing egg whites just to soft peaks and no further. If you have to keep selecting the speed setting it can be quite annoying, but here you can just touch it and it stops when you release.
Steady grip on this mixer too, and I like the fact there's a range of colours to choose from. I like colour in my kitchen so I thought this red would fit in just nicely.

Having read the previous review on this, I'm unsure what they find is actually wrong with the product itself, as it seems the low rating is merely due to a customer service issue, not a product issue. When reading a review I think it's important to know if this is a product you would want to have.

It certainly has my vote!
