Manufacturer's Description
The Kenwood Prospero Compact KM265 is a domestic kitchen machine for family usage. It is fully interlocked for added safety and ideal for simple food preparation. The KM265 has a powerful 650W motor driving 3 outlets. There are two outlets situated at the top of the machine, one high and one medium speed, for running the inclusive liquidiser, food processor and citrus juicer attachment. The bowl outlet runs on a planetary action allowing all the mixture to be picked up from the bowl. Prospero comes complete with 3 K-Lene-coated bowl tools (K-beater, Whisk and Dough Hook) and 3 plates for thick slicing/shredding, thin slicing/shredding and rasping. There are also 2 separate attachments available for the Prospero: a centrifugal juicer attachment for use on the high speed outlet, and a mincer attachment, which can be fixed to the bowl outlet when the head of the machine is lifted up.
The Kenwood Prospero Compact is finished in a plastic body with a brushed metal front grill and comes with 4.3 Litre brushed stainless steel bowl. The simple “pop-up” head lift and angled tool action allows for quick and easy tool change and bowl removal. The KM265 boasts variable speed control and the included splashguard makes adding ingredients to the bowl, whilst mixing, easy and mess free.
Also included is an interactive CD ROM with 90 recipes (available in 11 languages) to get you started.

Customer Reviews
Excellent upgrade from the 1970/80's model
I had a very old Kenwood, I was unable to purchase a citrus extractor for my model, the Liquidiser attachment had long died, so decided to upgrade to the Prospero.
I am very pleased indeed with this product, the splatter guard is a bonus, the attachments are easy to attach, very good instructions.
Excellent product, a great aid to my small cake making work.Kenwood Prospero Compact KM265 Food Mixer, 4.3 Litre
very disappointing from Kenwood
I bought this machine to add to my 'collection' - already owning a Kenwood Chef Professional Mixer PM900 and a Kenwood Chef Classic KM336 Kitchen Machine, 4.6 Litre. I have my own cake making business and often need several mixers working at once, so I thought this compact machine would be an ideal addition, especially at the sale price.
As soon as I took it out of the box I was sceptical. It lacks the weight and build quality of the other Kenwoods and, in spite of being 'compact', it is an awkward shape which I find more difficult to use than the standard Kenwood stand mixers.
The bowl is also nothing like as robust - and I imagine would dent easily if dropped or banged. When I tried beating up some butter cream it took absolutely ages. In the end I gave up and scraped it into my Kenwood classic, which did the job in about 2 minutes! All in all - quirky, but not a serious bit of kit - and unbelieveably noisy!! As a serious cook, I would recommend the Classic over this any day.
For my cakes
I had for many years a large chef machine but when I changed to a processor I was not happy with the cakes I made in it. However there were things I liked about the processor so to be able to get both is exactly what I wanted. The cakes I now make are as I want - no over sliced fruit and much easier to removed the mixture. The price was also very good. None of the local outlets could touch it.
