Disapointing2
Upon receiving the book this morning for my 5 year old son I was disapointed due the fact that I thought there would be key words as stickers that relate to the oxford reading tree. Instead their was stickers of the family and shadows were to stick them. My 5 year old son seemed to enjoy placing the stickers on the pages but there was not much learning and no story to follow their adventure.

a good start for more able guided reading to support schoolwork4
I have 6 year old twins and bought this book as I feel their school isnt challenging them enough with the books they are bringing home from school. Within three days they learnt all the words. The stickers are a great incentive for them to get each page done as I let them stick them in when they had finished each page. Each page has a different story of about 2 or 3 lines all centred around the family using the same characters. It also has questions at the bottom of each page. The stickers made them think about the pictures more and how they relate to the text. My one criticism would be that they shorten some of the words such as he's, they've which is not great when you are trying to teach your children to read & write properly.

Floppy's Activity Book5
We are really enjoying this book as the characters are the same as in the first book my grandson read himself. He loves the puzzles, the stickers and telling stories from the pictures. It is amazing what detailed pictures they are and how his imagination can make so much more than the obvious.
