About the Author
Pat Hoodless is Senior Lecturer in history and education at the Institute of Education, Manchester Metropolitan University. Her main research interests are in the teaching of time and chronology and the links between language and history in the primary school. She has written a number of papers in national and international journals on these issues, is the author of Time and Timelines in the Primary School (Historical Association, 1996) and editor of History and English in the primary school (Routledge, 1998). She has also edited Teaching Humanities in Primary Schools (Learning Matters, 2003), and has published a number of practical books on primary history for teachers with Scholastic Ltd, She has acted on a consultancy basis for the QCA, CBBC and for Mexicolore.
