Espresso
High pressured water is forced through finely ground coffee The result is an espresso with a strong rich aroma and flavour sealed into the coffee by the thick crema the creamy golden foam on the top. By adding more water to an espresso, a Lungo (long coffee) can be made. Can be used with any brand of ground coffee or E.S.E soft pods*

Cappuccino
With the high quality stainless steel frothing arm you can create the perfect cappuccino. Cappuccino's are made up from three parts: 1/3 freshly made espresso, topped with 1/3 hot steamed milk finished with 1/3 of frothed fresh milk. Plus of course a fine dusting of powdered chocolate or cinnamon over the top. The frothing arm can also product hot water, ideal for making tea.

Unique Krups Thermoblock technology heats water on demand. This system is fast which enables complete temperature accuracy (very important in making good quality coffee) and also reduces limescale build up.

Basic design flaws and poor performance
We bought this having had an earlier, similar Krups model with the automatic milk froth attachment. Our previous machine performed well. This one was absolutely awful. After only seven months, we have given up on it and are buying a new machine.

To start, if you want customer service, don't even think about getting a Krups. In our experience, they had the most unhelpful, unfriendly staff imaginable.

More importantly, this machine just does not work very well:
1) It doesn't make two cups at a time any more - the pressure is too weak to force the coffee through one tiny pinhole in the filter
2) It regularly leaks water all over the kitchen surface
3) It is fiddly to clean, and
4) (worst of all) the cappuccino attachment simply could't be positioned more awkwardly.

By the time you have used this, you really need that cup of coffee to calm you down from the frustrating experience of using this poor machine.

Definitely one to avoid!

Leaky Espresso Maker
We bought a machine in October, 2006. The first one was dead out of the box. The replacement lasted seven months until it began leaking badly and could be used no longer. One star is one too many for this product.

Perfectly dreadful and poorly made
The Coffee had to be warmed up in the microwave on each one of the machines I had and all eventually stopped working all together. The 1st one lasted 2 weeks, 2nd one lasted 1 week, and the 3rd one lasted 3 1/2 weeks. Their customer service admitted to me that they have been having problems with this model after the 2nd replacement though they were surprised at it happening so soon with mine. Within a few days of the 3rd one arriving they sent me a refund cheque for the full amount without me having to ask and before that one finally broke down. Their service is fantastic, but really does not make up for a machine that does not work.
